Kim Bartley

Director

Kim Bartley has spent time in Uganda, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Mozambique working as a photographer. In 1998 she was the Concern Media Liaison officer doing field work in countries such as Uganda, Ethiopia and Bangladesh. Kim was also registered between 1998 and 2002 on the Concern rapid response register and worked in crisis situations such as The Afghanistan war, the Mozambique floods and the Ethiopian famine.

As a documentary director, Kim Bartley is best known for her multi-award winning documentary film 'Chavez - Inside The Coup', A journalistic thriller, charting the overthrow of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and his dramatic return to power 48 hours later. The documentary has met with critical acclaim throughout the world, winning awards such as The Global Television Grand prize at Banff, Le Prix George du Beau Regard International, FID Marseilles Film Festival, France and The Silver Hugo Award, Chicago International Film Festival. Last year (2004) she filmed a 'Prime Time' special on the genocide in Rwanda which was presented by Vincent Browne.

Last year Kim spent time working in Israel, Palestine and Lebanon, as Executive Producer on a documentary about UNMAC's demining project in south Lebanon.
